Situation
A SQL Server database failed to attach and the active log contained abnormal repeating patterns near its tail.
Evidence from backups
Multiple recent backup files recovered from the same storage were restored successfully. Large non-database files also passed extraction and opening tests.
Conclusion
The broad file evidence supported the reconstructed RAID layout. The active log damage was treated as a genuine database-level corruption rather than proof of incorrect array parameters.
Lesson
Application-aware validation is essential. A plausible filesystem view is not enough; database backups, archives and representative business files should be tested.
