Understand the operating model

MindShield combines a Windows agent, cloud management API and role-aware dashboard. Administrators should distinguish between platform availability, agent connectivity, backup-job success, verification status and actual restore readiness.

AreaAdministrative responsibility
DevicesConfirm enrollment, ownership, connectivity and intended protection scope.
PoliciesApprove schedules, retention and database selections against business requirements.
JobsReview failures, recurring warnings and missed expected executions.
VerificationInterpret evidence and arrange periodic controlled restore exercises.

Daily operational review

  1. Review offline or stale agents.
  2. Review failed and warning backup jobs.
  3. Check databases that are discovered but not protected.
  4. Review verification warnings and aging successful backups.
  5. Record ownership and next action for unresolved exceptions.

Govern policy changes

Treat schedule, retention, database selection and storage changes as controlled operational changes. Record the reason, expected effect, approver and validation result. Avoid changing multiple variables simultaneously during incident diagnosis.

Manage access and escalation

Use organization memberships and role permissions to keep access within the user’s assigned responsibility. Escalate product configuration issues to MindShield support. Escalate damaged media, severe corruption or ransomware-compromised source systems to qualified recovery specialists without performing unnecessary writes.
